Changing the menu titles

If you wish to change the titles of menu items at any level of navigation - it can be accomplished quite easily by editing the specific folder, page, or panel and updating the Title field in the settings.

1.) Section

If you want to change the name of the top menu item... for example to change the name of the About section to be called Profile instead; then you will want to change the folder name as shown below.

- locate the About folder in the Site Manager and select Edit as shown below:

Once the folder settings are open for editing... then update the Title field to be the new name.

In our example below the Title field has changed from About to be Profile instead.

NB: Changing the folder name here will change the wording on the live web site on saving the change.

Update the Title (and in many cases the ID field too) and then use the Save button to commit your change to the web server.

2. Page

If you want to change the name of a drop-down menu item... for example to change the name of the School Ethos section to be called School Code instead; then you will want to change the page title.

Locate the page you want to rename in the Site Manager as pictured below and open it for editing.

You will find the page Title under the Info panel for the page as shown...

Rename and save your page.

Update the Title (and in many cases the ID field too) and then use the Save button to commit your change to the web server. Be cautious about changing the page ID field if the page is used for some special functionality on the web site such as a product catalogue or news feed.

Go to the main home page of your web site and then refresh/reload the page and then check your navigation menus. If you are not seeing your change in the menus try clearing your browser history / cache. Also check in another browser if you have a variety installed (Firefox, Chrome, Safari.) If in doubt - get in touch via email.
